#myDubai: 3 things to do during the week

The weekend just ended, and you may be dreading the start of the week already! Have no fear...there are plenty of options of things to do around the city that make school nights seem more awesome than weekends. Here are 3 of those:

HintHunt at Times Square Center

HintHunt is one of Dubai's newest must-do attractions. The concept is solving a murder mystery by interpreting and unlocking a myriad number of clues, and ultimately escaping the room you are locked in within 60 minutes or less! According to the staff working there, only 30-40% of people who play the game actually do get out in time!

The game allows for 3 - 5 people to be locked within the same room. To make the most out of this experience, I highly recommend booking the 3 available rooms simultaneously and rallying up 12 - 15 of your friends to compete on which team is the fastest to get out of the room. The off-peak price per individual to play the game is AED 110 (for 4 players per room), and booking in advance via hinthunt.ae is a must to avoid disappointment. If by any chance you have problems booking through the website like I did, call them up immediately on 04-3212242 to check and confirm that the rooms have been booked for you.

Outdoor fitness boot camp

Temperature and humidity levels may be high at the moment, but if you cannot stand working out in a gym like I can't, then I highly recommend sweating it out at an outdoor boot camp. I am currently a member with the Original Fitness Co. and I love their 6.30pm session at Safa Park on Mondays and Wednesdays.

The workout you go through in boot camp is a series of short high intensity exercises that collectively elevates your heart beat rate, and enhances your fitness and stamina levels. Expect to do burpees, jumping jacks, push ups, kettle bells, jogging, jumping squats, planks and a few more of those within 1 hour. Hooah!

First session is for FREE, and their 12 session package is currently being offered at AED 550; which is a great deal compared to the alternatives being offered by the competitors.

2-for-1 Mondays at Jazz at Pizza Express

I honestly don't think there is a cooler place to spend your evenings at than Jazz at Pizza Express; you get the perfect combination of live music, and the best of authentic Italian cuisine (pizza and pasta). On Mondays between 7pm and 1am, Jazz at Pizza Express offers a 2-for-1 deal on all its menu items which naturally makes this night one of the restaurant's most popular nights!

Jazz at Pizza Express is located in cluster A at JLT right next to the Movenpick Hotel. Advance booking is a must, and the restaurant can be contacted at 04-441 6342.
