#myDubai: 3 places to try out this weekend

The weekend is approaching, and you may be craving to try out new places in Dubai that you haven't been to yet. The malls get too busy for anyone's liking, and the idea of doing something chilled out seems more appealing to you. If this is what you are looking for, then have no fear, you have finally come to the right place! With new joints opening up nearly everyday in Dubai, I highly recommend trying out the following 3 spots if you haven't done so already:

Brandi Pizzeria at City Walk
If you fancy having an authentic Italian pizza prepared before your eyes using a brick oven, then Brandi at City Walk Dubai is the place to go for your weekend lunch or dinner. Brandi claims that its original Napoli branch invented the Margherita pizza in 1889. Don't expect anything fancy from Brandi, it's a very simple Pizzeria with really good pizzas. Period. You may be put off at first by the relatively small size of the restaurant (7 tables tops), or even by the fact that they do not play background music; yet just wait until that pizza gets put on your table before you and you have the very first bite from it. MAJOR YUM!

Pizzas to try: Margherita, OFCOURSE (priced at AED 65); and the Don Salvatore, which is one of Brandi's best-selling specialties (priced at AED 85). Warning: the pizza is large, so if you are not too hungry, perhaps it is better to plan to share with a friend.

The Hummingbird Bakery at City Walk
This London-based outlet is the perfect spot to go to right after having your Pizza from Brandi's; I ain't going to sugar coat it though, their desserts are too sweet (see what I did there?). Forget about your diet for the day, and go for the Black Bottom Cupcake with your coffee.

Clinton St. Baking Company & Restaurant at Burj Views Downtown
If you are looking for a place to have your Saturday breakfast at, then Clinton St. Baking Company & Restaurant is definitely where you need to go this weekend. Originally from New York, this outlet boasts its egg dishes and pancakes! The restaurant does not take bookings, and your group must all be at the restaurant when the table is ready...and no, you cannot add people to your table after you are seated! Expect not to be seated right away, therefore, it is advisable to arrive as early as you can to minimize your wait time (restaurant opens at 7.30am, with food being served from 8am).

The omelets are highly recommended, followed by one of the restaurant's signature pancakes.

Have you already tried out any of the above outlets? What's your feedback? Have you got any suggestions of other places to check out? Please leave them in the comments section below. Have a delicious weekend! :)
