This one's for you ladies!
The Dubai Ladies Club is organizing a Women's Bazaar from August 1 - 4, 2012 that starts at 8.00pm and is open until after midnight. When I visited it today, as men are allowed for this event, I honestly expected not more than 4 - 5 table displays along with a handful of people visiting. I was pleasantly surprised to find that the parking lot was almost full and you can barely walk easily inside the exhibition area!
The Exhibition hosts a good number of small businesses, mostly owned by women from or residing in the UAE. Most of the items on display were either clothing items (dresses, abayas, etc.), accessories, jewelries, and home decoration items. There were also stands promoting chocolate products, wedding planning services and skin products. Definitely a wonderland for women and a place from hell for men who are dragged there! :) The exhibition is organized under the patronage of the Emirates Business Women Council.
One small business in particular that I have been noticing lately and has been grabbing the attention of visitors from the exhibitions they participate with is Nashmiya. It was, therefore, no surprise to me that it was picking up on the same level attention from this exhibition. Nashmiya is a unique arabesque fashion brand that also creates and produces accessories and home decoration items. They have a facebook page that I really recommend you give a visit to see a sample of their work.
HURRY as this exhibition will end on August 4, 2012; and I really encourage the ladies mostly to join the rest of the community and support the local small businesses and the products and services they offer.
Entrance is free for all!
