Once you enter the park, you are struck by the festive mood everyone seems to be in. As my friend describes it, the ripe market is all about eating and bumping into people you know; and it's not about eating just one thing but jumping from one food outlet to the other.
The ripe market can be categorized into following: organic food market, food stalls, and clothes and accessories stalls. The main concentration of people is at the food stalls obviously with one of the most popular one being Ka'ak Al Manara.
The waiting time to order at Ka'ak Al Manara is easily 15minutes (on average), and then you'll need to wait another 10 minutes (average) to pick up your order, but honestly, the wait is worth it! My favorite Ka'ak is the four cheese with zaater and sumac add-ons (Dhs 18), complemented by Laban Airan (Dhs 5) for drinks.
Another popular stall is the Holland House which has a more permanent branch at Kite Beach, Jumeirah. Three words: Nutella Mini Pancakes!
Though it is not as busy as the other stalls, I personally like having the Chocolate Divino with Pastaccio ice cream from the Gelato Divino place. It's a much needed cool down especially when you spend a day at the park under the warm sun.
Think of the Ripe Market as a large picnic spot where you meet up with your friends (planned or unplanned) to eat lots of food. I highly encourage going as early as possible so you allow for some time to digest in order to be able to hopefully have some room for more food. Another advise is don't order a lot at any one place so you can try everything and as they say "sharing is caring" :). Other food being served at the Ripe Market include burgers, hot dogs, pastries, pizza, biryani, and bbq. Some of the recommended names also include: Yamanote (for pastries), Taqado (for Mexican), Moti Roti (for Indian) and Mozzo Centrale (for pizza).
