Best of #KiteBeach Jumeirah

I don't believe there is anywhere as nearly as awesome as Dubai is during December. Where it is unbelievably cold elsewhere, the UAE in general experiences during its coldest months what can be described as an European summer weather.

Naturally with such an awesome weather, people tend to spend their time outdoors as much as possible before we get back to the scorching heat of the summer. The next few blog posts will be dedicated to highlighting our favorite outdoor spots and activities. Your feedback and suggestions as always are highly appreciated.

One of the most popular casual outdoor spots the people of Dubai like to spend their time at is Kite Beach, otherwise known as the open beach at Jumeirah 3. The authorities have done an amazing job in transforming this area to make it as fun as possible to spend your day at.

There are the day goers and night goers of kite beach. For the day goers, the place is after all a beach, and despite the cooler weather, Europeans still frequent it to get a tan. During the evening, Kite Beach is a different world. You find joggers running along the track, beach volleyball games, beach strollers, and diners (yes there is a variety of outlets here that you can eat at). Parking at the lot near the food outlets will now cost you Dhs 15 flat (used to be free).

Im glad that the authorities have finally included distance markers on the rubber track. Around a month ago or so, I decided to go for a jog but couldn't know how much distance I covered because they weren't there yet. I recall reading somewhere that the track should be around 14km long. I'm not sure if that figure is accurate and will be updating this once I figure it out (#trainingforDubaiMarathon).

It's as pleasant as well to see many of the outlets open. One of the most famous attractions remains to be Salt, the burger food truck.

Though I personally think that its prices are higher than its value, still the experience of grabbing a greasy burger and hot fries by the beach is very appealing. Be advised that the burgers are very small in size and every order comes with two of those mini burgers that may not be sufficient for those with a big appetite. By the way, a meal at Salt will cost you between Dhs 50-60.

I was surprised to see that the seating area for Salt has been shifted due to construction work. I mean the place has been operational for a few months now, and those works started just as the weather got better??!! It's such a shame as the beeping sound of the trucks reversing mess up the ambience just a bit!

Another favorite here is Holland House that serves hot and fresh mini-pancakes that are topped with either chocolate, Kraft cheese or fruit syrup. I highly recommend going for the Nutella topping, it is a bit heavy but if you're walking on thin ice, you might as well dance on it :) Those yummy babies go for Dhs 25 each serving.

I can easily spend my evening here and I think I will be going for a stroll now along the beach but one additional factor you need to keep in mind is the number of kids running around and screaming (why do kids scream like they have something to prove?). That's alright I guess but also keep in mind that if you'll be taking a stroll here anytime soon, please do so on the wooden walkway and not the rubber track which is meant to be for joggers (speaking from experience).

Till the next one :) Follow us on Instagram: @emiratestrends
