3 books you need to read before you meet Dan Brown in Sharjah

The Sharjah International Book Fair 2014 had recently announced that it will be hosting worldwide acclaimed thriller author Dan Brown as its guest of honor. Brown will be speaking about his work this coming Thursday November 6 at 7.30pm in Expo Centre, Sharjah. This event is being organized as part of the Sharjah Islamic Civilization Capital 2014 initiatives.

Dan Brown
I believe that it is safe to assume that many are familiar with Dan Brown's The Da Vinci Code and Angels & Demons (both made it as motion pictures). Both those books revolve around the same fictional character who is Robert Langdon, a Harvard Professor of Symbology. If this is indeed the case, and you intend on visiting the Fair this coming Saturday to meet Dan Brown, then you will need to also be familiar with the following 3 books that have also been authored by the man himself:

1. The Lost Symbol

This book is a sequel to both The Da Vinci Code and Angels & Demons. Robert Langdon races around Washington D.C. decrypting masonic secrets in favor of Mal'akh (the story's villain) in an attempt to save his friend and mentor, Peter Solomon.

2. Inferno

This book is the fourth installment of the Robert Langdon series in which the Harvard Professor is in race with the clock in an attempt to locate and stop a serious disease from spreading and threatening the continuity of the human race. The story is set between Italy (Florence and Venice), and Turkey, and makes heavy references to Dante and his work.

3. Deception Point

Unrelated completely to the Robert Langdon series, this thriller follows Rachel Sexton, an intelligence analyst, whom stumbles upon the conspiracy theory behind a NASA related discovery made in the Arctic, and the true motives behind it. Though I am personally a HUGE Robert Langdon fan, I would definitely recommend this book as the must-read out of the three listed here.

Kudos to Sharjah for booking Dan Brown to make an appearance in this year's Sharjah International Book Fair. This is a major attraction point that will highly appeal to thriller books readers, and Dan Brown fans alike.
