It goes without argument that Iris is probably one of the most sought after night out destinations in Dubai. The venue boasts elements of elegance, and poshness that if you did not rise up to with your sense of fashion, you would get quickly overlooked by the staff and the crowd alike.
Visiting Iris during the week is probably the wisest, and sanest, decision you can make; especially if its either on a Sunday or Tuesday as your experience will be complemented with a live band.
Having that said, I would highly avoid the venue like the plague if you were considering it for the weekend. The thing about it is that it gets too overcrowded to the point that you no longer can exist! Safety hazards anyone? So what my friends and I tried to do to overcome this (we were a group of nearly 25 people) is reserve a table obviously so we can at least enjoy the benefits of a more personalized service. To our surprise, and despite confirmation, Iris' staff gave us a table that effectively fits in 8 people (and even that's a big may be) and with a straight face, the staff informed us that it fits 25.
Ok! I do get that service gets compromised sometimes when there are too many people for the venue to handle, but what I didn't appreciate is how the attending staff to our table would literally shove us around and to the sides just so they can serve us! And surely, a big turn off that is the cherry on top is if you get served by staff members whom themselves say they cannot stand being there themselves!
Iris is surely a beautiful venue that is worth checking if you haven't done so already, but a word from the wise, don't go there on a weekend as you will highly regret it!
