Well it is the holy month of Ramadan and what better to blog about right now other than what's going on around town! After the sunset, a traditional habit many residents of the UAE enjoy doing is hanging out at the various ramadan tents to have iftar or suhoor.
One of my personal favorite ones is the Ramadan Majlis Tent at the Dubai World Trade Centre inside the Sheikh Saeed Hall.
The tent can accommodate thousands of visitors per day but heads up: booking is a must so you avoid disappointment. Try to book at least a day or two in advance so you can get a proper cushioned type of seating. Same day booking is also possible but more likely during the weekdays than the weekdays as it gets really busy. Prices are more or less fair (compared to other tents in town). It is also not as stuffy when it comes to the sheesha smoke. If you have grown up in the UAE and studies here, chances are you will run into a few people you know. The atmosphere is very laid back and chilled. Dress code is casual although you may spot a few abnormalities.
Parking may also be slightly uncomfortable, only when you try to reach the valet parking area but it is complimentary if you park it yourself or have it valeted and later validate your valet ticket from the tent.
